A Splash of Color is a photography series that uses selective color to explore ideas of individuality, visibility, and difference within otherwise uniform environments.

By isolating a single color against a desaturated background, each image draws attention to subjects that resist blending in, visually reinforcing the idea that standing apart is not inherently negative.

While the project was developed independently, it exists within a broader conversation about conformity, perception, and how visual norms are constructed.

The images invite viewers to reconsider what is labeled as “normal” and how visual systems can subtly reinforce or challenge those expectations.
